Medicare Plans

Psychologists are able to offer a Medicare rebate for counselling services on either a GP Mental Health Care Plan (GPMHP) or GP Chronic Condition Management Plan (formally known as an Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) or Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plan).

Medicare allows up to ten sessions per calendar year for GPMHP and 5 sessions for GP Chronic Condition Management Plans (EPC/CDM plans). 

Fees and Rebates 

Counselling appointments at Links Psychology are $150, this is for initial and ongoing, individual sessions.  We also provide couples counselling at $160 per session.  If you have a GP Mental Health Care Plan then we can process the Medicare rebate of $98.95 for you at the time of your consult, leaving a gap of $51.05. The rebate for an EPC plan is $61.80, with a gap of $88.20.  Please note as of 1/7/2026 our fees are increasing, please see out update in the latest news page.

Telehealth

Our consultations are primarily via face to face, however do offer phone or video consultations, these are conducted via phone, FaceTime or Zoom.  Telehealth appointments are paid via direct deposit or credit card over the phone prior to your appointment.  

Claiming your Medicare Rebate

We are process your Medicare rebate at the time of the appointment electronically.  The rebate will be deposited via Medicare into the account you have listed with them.  If you do not have banking details registered with Medicare please let reception staff know so alternate arrangements can be made.
